Our primary function is to evaluate each child's individual needs and to provide physical, occupational, and speech language therapy appropriate to meet those needs. To assist in meeting the child's needs, we instruct their families in home activities to promote the child's therapy goals. Service may be provided in our facility, in the child's daycare center or in his home, depending on the needs of the child.
Ancillary services we provide include:
- Fabrication of braces and splints
- Consultation on and procurement of adaptive equipment
- Instruction to staffs of local daycare centers in handling techniques for special children
- Workshops for parents and caregivers
- Consultation with other professionals treating the child
- Parental education
In addition to direct and ancillary services, we maintain an equipment loan library for families who cannot afford to purchase special equipment for their child. We are in the process of upgrading a publication and video resource library for families. Access to our equipment and resource library and professional consultations are available to anyone who requests such assistance and is in no way restricted to families whose child receives services at our center.
