What can you do to help?

1. Demonstrate a heightened awareness and compassion for people with mental illnesses. Do not allow jokes and negative comments to pass.

2. Discuss what you have learned with others. Be sensitive to symptoms of your self and others that you have learned may need additional medical or psychiatric attention.

3. Lobby for mental health parity with other physical illnesses for insurance purposes.

4. Demand adequate funding for state and community mental health services

5. Support and participate in mental health activities in the community
